Privacy Policy

Mak4laNet ("we", "our", or "us") makes the Kadi card game (the "App"). The App is published as "Kadi — East African Card Game" on Google Play and as "Karata: Kadi Card Game" on the App Store. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account and sign-in

• Account ID: a random identifier we create for your game account.
• Device sign-in: so you can play without creating a login, the App signs you in with a device identifier. On iOS this is a random identifier created when the App is installed; on Android it is the device's app identifier.
• Game Center (iOS): if you use Game Center, we receive your Game Center player ID and the verification data Apple provides to confirm it is you.
• Google Play Games (Android): if you use Play Games, we receive your Play Games player ID and, where Google provides them, your Play Games display name and profile picture.

We do not receive your email address, password, phone number, or contacts from Apple or Google.

Profile

• Your display name and avatar (chosen in the App, or your Play Games profile picture).
• The home country you choose when you first open the App. On Android, the App may suggest a country based on your SIM card's country code; this suggestion is worked out on your device, and only the country you confirm is sent to us.
• Your in-app settings, such as language.

Friends and invites

• Your friends list, your friend code, and the invite codes you create. Invite codes expire.
• When you share an invite, you choose the app it is sent with (for example, a messaging app). We do not read your phone's contacts.

Gameplay

• Matches you play, including the moves needed to run online games, scores, statistics, leaderboard and event entries, rewards, and your in-game coins and gems.

Purchases

• When you buy an in-app item, we receive the purchase record from the app store (such as the order ID and receipt) so we can verify the purchase and deliver your item. Payments are handled by Google or Apple; we never see your card or payment details.

Diagnostics

• Crash and error reports: when the App crashes or hits an error, it sends a report with technical details such as your device model, operating system version, App version, a device identifier, and your account ID.
• Performance and stability data: for a sample of sessions, timing measurements of how the App performs, and a record of App sessions so we can measure how often it crashes. While the App is open, it also records battery level and remaining charge, power draw, whether the device is charging, device temperature and thermal state, and whether power-saving mode is on, together with how the App's network connection was used, so we can measure and reduce how much battery the App uses.
• "Report a problem": if you tap this in Settings, the App sends a snapshot of the current game state, the App version, and your platform, linked to your account.

Technical data

• Like any online service, our servers process your IP address to connect you to the game.

What we do not collect

The App does not collect your precise location, phone contacts, photos, camera or microphone data, or advertising identifier. The App does not show ads, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and run your account and sign you in.
• To run matches, including online multiplayer.
• To provide friends, invites, leaderboards, events, and rewards.
• To verify purchases and deliver what you bought.
• To find and fix crashes, bugs, and performance problems.
• To keep the game fair and secure, including preventing cheating and abuse.
• To show in-app notifications, such as when a friend accepts your invite.

3. Legal Bases (EEA and UK Players)

• To provide the game you asked for (performance of a contract): account, gameplay, friends, leaderboards, and purchases.
• Our legitimate interests: diagnostics, security, and preventing cheating and abuse.
• Legal obligations: keeping purchase records where the law requires it.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

• Other players: your display name, avatar, and game results (such as leaderboard positions) are visible to other players.
• Hosting provider: our servers are hosted by Contabo GmbH in Germany. Crash reports and diagnostics are stored on these same servers, not with a third-party analytics company.
• Apple and Google: when you use Game Center, Google Play Games, or buy an item, Apple or Google process data under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google).
• Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our players or ourselves.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union (Germany). Data sent between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

• Account, profile, friends, and gameplay data: kept while your account exists, and deleted when you delete your account.
• Server logs: kept for 7 days.
• Crash reports, error logs, performance data, and "Report a problem" reports: deleted after 90 days.
• Purchase records: kept for as long as financial and tax laws require.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time in the App: open your profile and tap Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you cannot use the App, email privacy@mak4la.net and we will delete your account within 30 days. See Delete Your Account for details.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data.
• Object to or restrict how we use your data.

To use these rights, email privacy@mak4la.net. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and tell you in the App about material changes.
